CONSISTENCY IN SHOWING LOVE

He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. John 21:17 KJV

Hallelujah. Powerful scripture there

Let your love not be seasonal. If development is to happen in your life, your church, your house, your job, your business, your children, etc, your love must be consistent.

When your love is consistent, you do not stop to do what you are doing for a small disappointment that may happen. You will try again and again until there is a breakthrough. You do not love your child deeply today, and then tomorrow you stop. The child is likely not to develop that way. You do not love your job deeply today, and tomorrow, you are not for it. You are likely not to develop that way. You do not love your business deeply today, and tomorrow, you are not for it. Your business is likely to be stagnant in such circumstances. You do not love God’s work dearly today, and tomorrow, you are not for it. You are likely to be spiritually stagnated in so doing. You love it consistently. Then, you move up the ladders of progression.

Some people have love that goes by their mood. Don’t be so. Moods are seasonal and unpredictable. By mood, they love deeply today, and they eagerly want to help you today. Unfortunately, a day ends in 12 hours, and the help has to be completed by next week. Tomorrow, their mood towards you has changed, and they are no longer interested in helping you. Do not be like such. They are double minded, and they will not obtain anything from the Lord for their labour.

When you are consistent in your showing of love, your moods will be subjected to your love. Do not subject your love to your moods. Moods are easily affected by emotions and feelings. Emotions and feelings are not a good driver of direction of life.

Do not be like Simon Peter, who, in the absence of Jesus’ physical presence, goes for the love of fishing fish, in the presence of Jesus’ physical presence, he wants to feed sheep. Be consistent in your love, in season and out of season, when you are feeling it and when you are not feeling it.

May you put on consistent love in your life. May you not struggle to understand the word of God in this moment.

God bless you

Amen
