Statement of Faith
SAWOS Ministry Statement of Faith
Our Saving-Word Stewards Ministries statement of faith is founded on the Bible and the early church (Apostles) belief. The Following is what we believe at SAWOS Church.
Purpose
This Statement is a summary of the Saving-Word Stewards (SAWOS) belief of faith which is based on the scriptures in a series of short statement of faith. The purpose od this statement is to help SAWOS members ground inthe true doctrine founded on the apostles faith or belief.

What we believe?
Saving-Word Stewards Ministry embraces the following statement concerning the truth. The Bible is adequate rule for faith and practice. This statement of Fundamental Truth is intended as a basis of fellowship among us. That is we all speak the same thing (1 Corinthians 1:10, Acts 2:24), the truth revealed to cover our need as to these fundamental doctrines. We believe that this statement of Fundamental Truth is based on the inspired Bible truth (Luke 1:1).
We are all infected with sin (Romans 3:23). We are born with sin (Psalm 51:5), and we all personally choose to sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20; 1 John 1:8). Sin is what makes us unsaved. Sin is what separates us from God. Sin is what has us on the path to eternal destruction.
Holy Bible (word of God)
We believe that the Bible is ultimate source of all doctrine, reproof, correction, and instrution for righteous living, godliness and daily Christian conduct (1Timothy 3:16-17). The Bible contains the word of God which is Living, powerful, discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12)Because of our sin, we all deserve death (Romans 6:23). While the physical consequence of sin is physical death, that is not the only kind of death that results from sin. All sin is ultimately committed against an eternal and infinite God (Psalm 51:4). Because of that, the just penalty for our sin is also eternal and infinite. What we need to be saved from is eternal destruction (Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:15).
Holy Trinity
There is only one God in three personalities, and we learn about Him only from sacred scriptures.
- God: In the Old Testament Hebrew word Elohim the plural of Eloahh (Genesis 1:1-26, 3:22, 11:7) God refered as singular in form but plural in meaning ( John 1:1-3)
- Jesus Christ: The word who was with God and was God (John 1:1-14, Philippians 2:5-11)
- Holy Spirit: Present in the Old Testament (Genesis 1:2). The given promise: teacher, comforter, and guide from God when Jesus ascended to heaven (John 14:26)
The Man
- Created in God’s image and likeness. God created them male and female (Genesis 1:26-27).
- Three-part being (Genesis 2:7, Hebrew 4:12)
- Status of man (1Corinthians 2:14, Ephesian
- Fall of Man
The Submission
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). God has already done all of the work. All you must do is receive, in faith, the salvation God offers (Ephesians 2:8-9). Fully trust in Jesus alone as the payment for your sins. Believe in Him, and you will not perish (John 3:16). God is offering you salvation as a gift. All you have to do is accept it. Jesus is the way of salvation (John 14:6).
The Atonement
The death of Jesus Christ on the cross paid the penalty for the sins of the whole world: which benefit only those who will receive the only begotten Son of God. His blood shed for our redemption and His wounds for the healing of our body, soul, and spirit. (1Peter 2v23-24; Romans 5v8-11; John 3v16)
The Grace of God
Manifested in God’s divine plan of salvation (Ephesians 2v8-10, John 3v16. Romans 10v8-13)
The true believer of Jesus Christ must endure to the end (Matthew 24v13. Romans 1v17. Hebrews 10v38-39)
For the believers who fall into sin, true repentance (turning away from the wicked ways) is the means to obtain the grace of God (1John 1v9. 2Corinthians 7v10-12)
The Assurance of Salvation
- God saved man by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2v8-9)
God saved man from the power and penalty of sin (Romans 6v23)
Man must be born again by believing in the only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to see and enter into the kingdom of heaven (John 3v3-21)
Man should abide in Christ and resist sin (1John 3v5-9)
The eternal security promised to those who believed and do the will of the Father (Hebrews 10v38-39; Matthew 7v21-24; Philippians 2v12; Revelation 3v5)
The Sanctification Process
By the power of the Holy Spirit we strive to obey the command, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” Sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s Word (1Peter 1v15-16, Hebrews 12v14, Ephesians 4v17-32, 1Thessalonians 4v3-8, 5v23, Romans 12v1- 2)
The Spiritual Purity: Holiness, Godliness, Righteousness, and Perfection
Holiness (1Peter 1v15-16, Hebrews 12v14, Ephesians 4v24, 1Thessalonians 4v7)
Godliness (1Timothy 2v2,10, 4v7,8, 6v3-11, 2Peter 1v3-10, 3v11)
Righteousness (Romans 1v16-17, Romans 10v4, 1John 2v29, Titus 2v12)
Perfection (Matthew 5v48, Philippians 3v15-16, Hebrews 6v1, Job 1v1-8)
The Church
Autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, having Christ as the Head and the Founder (Matthew 16v18-19, Romans 16v16, 1Corinthians 3v11, Colossians 1v18, Ephesians 4v22-23)
Sanctified body of believers of Jesus Christ from all ages, from every tribe, tongue, people and nation; governed by the laws of God, called to observe the ordinances of Christ; exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges vested to the believers as declared by the Word of God (Acts 2v41-47; Ephesians 2v19-20, Revelation 2-3)
The mission of the Church is to make disciples of all the nations, to baptize, and to teach to observe all the commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ (Mathew 28:19-20)
The Christian Fellowship
(1 John 1v3-7)
Common belief (Acts 2v42, Titus 1v4)
Common sufferings (1Peter 4v12-16, 1Peter 1v6, 1Peter 5v10)
Common hope (Hebrews 6v11; Colossians 1v27) Cooperation is desirable between the various Christian denominations, when the end to be attained is itself justified, and when such cooperation involves no violation of conscience or compromise of loyalty to Christ and His Word as revealed in the New Testament.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
(Acts 2v1-4, Acts 19v1-6, Mark 1v8)
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

(Galatians 5v22-23)
The Gifts of Ministry
(Ephesians 4:8-16, 1 Corinthians 12:28)
Mission
Ministry of Reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5v18) It is the duty of every child of God to seek every opportunity to win the lost to Christ by verbal witness undergirded by a Christian lifestyle, and by other methods in harmony with the gospel of Christ.
Believers are ambassadors of Christ to the world (2 Corinthians 5v20)
Fulfilling the great commission- a duty and a privilege of every follower of Christ and of every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavour to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28v19-20). The new birth of man’s spirit by God’s Holy Spirit means the birth of love for others. Missionary effort on the part of all rests thus upon a spiritual necessity of the regenerate life and is expressly and repeatedly commanded in the teachings of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ has commanded the preaching of the gospel to all nations (Matthew 24v14).
Offering and Giving
Give according to the purpose of your heart: not grudgingly or of necessity or under compulsion but cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9v6-15, Mark 12v41-44)
Offering to God is worship instituted by God Himself.
The Ministering for the Saints
Relief and service for physical or material needs and other needs (1 Corinthians 16v1; Romans 15v26-27)
Faith at work (James 2v14-16; 1 John 3v16-18; 2 Corinthians 8v1-2)
Without partiality (Acts 6v1-2; Acts 4v32-37)
Praise and Worship
Audible praise and worship (Psalms 47v1; Psalms 63v5; Psalms 66v1-2; Ephesians 5v19-20; Colossians 3v16)

Praise and worship with musical instruments (Psalms 150v3-5)
The Establishment of a Godly Family
- Family is ordained by God. God has established the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption. (Genesis 1:26-28)
Marriage is ordained and sanctioned by God (Genesis 2:18-25).
Biblical marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment and exclusive unity for a lifetime (Matthew 19:4-6).
Marriage consent is declared by physical death (Romans 7:2-3).
God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman who are married to each other. It is God’s unique gift to meet the unique union between Christ and His church and to provide for children within marriage. It is for the joy of companionship, the channel of sexual purity according to biblical standards, and the means of procreation of the human race (Matthew 19:4-6; Hebrews 13:4).
The marriage relationship models the way God… (The text might continue on the next page).
Here is the extracted text from the second image:
A husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church. He has the God-given responsibility to provide for, to protect, and to lead his family. A wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ. She, being in the image of God as is her husband and thus equal to him, has the God-given responsibility to respect her husband and to serve as his helper in managing the household and nurturing the next generation (1 Corinthians 7:1-16, Ephesians 5:21-33, 1 Timothy 5:8,14, Titus 2:3-5, 1 Peter 3:1-7).
Any form of sexual immorality, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexual conduct, incest, bestiality, pornography, any attempt to change one’s gender or disagreement with one’s biological gender is sin and offensive to God. (Exodus 20:14; Hebrews 13:4; Galatians 5:19, James 4:4, Romans 1:24-32, Leviticus 18:4-24).
Parents are to demonstrate to their children God’s pattern for marriage. Parents are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and to lead them through consistent lifestyle example and loving discipline, to make choices based on biblical truth (Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4, Exodus 20:12, Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Joshua 24:14-15).
Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Children are to honour and obey their parents (psalms 127:3-5, Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:1-3, provebs 23:2)
